Portuguese newspapers praised Cristiano Ronaldo after he scored his 133rd goal for Portugal, setting a new record, and Portugal also achieved a big win over Poland with a score of 3-1 in the European Nations League.

The Portuguese newspaper “A Bola” said that Cristiano Ronaldo surpasses all the legends of Portugal combined, as he reached the 133rd goal in 215 matches with the Sailors’ jersey after scoring the second goal for his country against Poland, reaching the 906th goal and strengthening his lead in the list of top scorers for national teams throughout history.

The Portuguese newspaper continued, “Don began appearing with Portugal on August 20, 2003, at which time Joao Neves and Antonio Silva were not yet born, while Renato Veiga was only 22 days old.”

The newspaper also praised Bernardo Silva, the Manchester City star, who made his first appearance for Portugal on March 31, 2015, and in less than a decade, he reached 96 international matches.

Bernardo also became the eighth most capped player for Portugal, behind only Rui Patricio (108 matches), Fernando Couto (110), Nani (112), Figo (127), Pepe (141), Joao Moutinho (146) and Ronaldo (215).

Portugal won 3-1 against Poland at Narodowe Stadium in the third round of the UEFA Nations League.

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva scored the first goal in the 26th minute, and legend Cristiano Ronaldo added the second goal in the 37th minute, ending the first half 2-0.

In the second half, Piotr Zielinski reduced the deficit for Poland in the 78th minute, while Poland’s Jan Bedárk scored an own goal in the 88th minute, ending the match with Portugal’s 3-1 victory.

With this result, Portugal tops Group 1 in the UEFA Nations League with 9 points, with a full score after beating Croatia, Scotland and Poland.

On the other hand, Poland comes in third place with 3 points, 3 points behind Croatia, while Scotland occupies the last place with no points.
