Cristiano Ronaldo’s crisis with Cassano escalates
Former Italian striker Antonio Cassano revealed that he received threats from Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, the striker for Saudi Al-Nasr, against the backdrop of the statements he made in which he criticized the performance of the Portuguese star.
The Spanish newspaper “AS” said that former Italian striker Antonio Cassano received a shocking response from Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, via text messages.
It indicated that Cassano exchanged text messages with Cristiano Ronaldo, saying, “I said that Brazilian Ronaldo is number 1 and Cristiano is not among my top 5 players, or even the top 10 players, because the quality of the player for me is something else.”
He added, “He sent me a text message with all the awards, goals and statistics, and said to me (You disrespected me, don’t do something like that again).”
The Italian star continued, responding to the message of the Saudi Al-Nasr player, saying, “Dear Cristiano, listen to me, you think I disrespected you, I just don’t like you as a player, what’s the problem?”
Cassano had spoken negatively about the Portuguese legend on more than one occasion, saying: “Ronaldo doesn’t know how to play football. He can score 3,000 goals. I don’t care. There are players like Higuain, Lewandowski, Aguero and others who know how to play football as a team. Ronaldo is just looking for the goal.”
